HUNTSVILLE – If you’re a fan of blues, soul and gritty Southern rock, mark your calendar for 805 After Five this week.
The program features headliner Eddie 9V (“Eddie 9 Volt”) with Microwave Dave & The Blue Band as the opener. They take the Butler Green, Campus No. 805 stage Thursday from 5-9 p.m.
Eddie 9V is an Atlanta-based artist who’s breathing new life into classic soul and blues with his searing guitar work and powerhouse vocals.
With a style that draws comparisons to legends Otis Redding and Freddie King, Eddie 9V has become one of the most exciting names in Southern soul.
Kicking off the night is Microwave Dave & The Blue Band, a beloved Huntsville blues trio known for their raw, no-frills performances and decades of dedication to the craft.
With legendary frontman Microwave Dave Gallaher on guitar and vocals, the band delivers a soulful, gritty sound rooted in the Delta blues tradition.
“This is going to be an awesome show with a lot of heart and soul,” said Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella. “Microwave Dave is an icon whose work speaks for itself, plus Eddie 9V is the real deal, and we’re really proud to bring this kind of heat to the stage and give the community a chance to experience it for free.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Food and drinks will be available from on-site vendors and Campus 805’s popular breweries and restaurants. Outside food and beverages are not permitted.
