ATHENS — The spirits in the night are back at their old haunts in Athens next month for the annual Athens Haunt Walk & Wagon Tours.
People of all ages can experience history and mystery on Athens-Limestone County Tourism’s approximate two-hour walking and wagon tours held every Tuesday and Thursday in October (wagon tours on Tuesdays only).
The tours – based on local Shane Black’s book, “The Spirits of Athens” – will begin at the historic 1906 Athens Visitors Center where local guides will lead groups through the darkened streets of Athens, making up to 10 spooky stops before returning.
Tickets for the Haunt Walk are $18 (plus fees) per person with 25 spots per tour. Tickets for Wagon Tours are $45 (plus fees) with 10 spots per tour. Group tours are available upon request. Advance tickets are available here.
Whether someone is a history buff or just in it for the scares, the Athens Haunt Walk & Wagon Tours are a perfect blend of local history, folklore, and ghostly entertainment.
All should be prepared for a night of intrigue and thrills as they uncover the hidden supernatural side of Athens.
