A healthy development: Groundbreaking ceremony held for The Shoppes at Piney Creek

ATHENS — Ground was broken recently for a ground-breaking retail center in Athens.

Calling it a retail center could be stretching things a little, though.

While offering retail space, The Shoppes at Piney Creek is centered on elevating the area’s health and wellness offerings.

Developer Jeremy Early unveiled plans for the retail center at 15340 Flinders Lane which will be anchored by Elevate Fitness and Elevé Wellness & Aesthetics.

The development represents a significant investment in the community’s growing demand for comprehensive health and wellness services.

Strategically positioned in the rapidly developing U.S. 72 retail corridor just east of I-65, The Shoppes at Piney Creek is near the under-construction Texas Roadhouse, 7 Brew, and the Publix-anchored Eastside Junction shopping center.

The location benefits from strong traffic patterns and excellent visibility in one of the area’s most dynamic commercial districts, the developer said.

According to Early, up to 15,000 square feet of retail space remains available for lease in Alabama’s second fastest-growing city, presenting an attractive opportunity for additional businesses to join this thriving location.

Hernandez Universal Construction is the contractor. Construction is expected to be completed early next year.
