GUNTERSVILLE — Priceville staged perhaps its greatest comeback effort in school history to beat No. 8 Guntersville 24-21 in overtime as the AHSAA football playoffs kicked off last night.

In the 5A clash, the Bulldogs (8-3) trailed Guntersville 21-7 with the Wildcats on offense and less than two minutes left to play.

The Priceville defense, however, forced a turnover and scored a quick touchdown on the ensuing possession. Then, the Wildcats recovered an onside kick, and scored quickly and added a two-point conversion to tie the game at 21-21.

In overtime, Guntersville tried a field goal and missed on its possession, and the Bulldogs then converted a field goal to take the win.
