Alabama A&M’s Darius Ford to play in HBCU All-Star Dream Classic

NORMAL — Alabama A&M University men’s basketball graduate guard Darius Ford has been invited to play in the third annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities All-Star Dream Classic in Harlem, N.Y.

The basketball event will take place Aug. 9 on the historic court of Rucker Park.

The event will feature men’s and women’s all-star games featuring recent HBCU players who are now eligible for NBA, WNBA, ABA, Big 3, European and other professional league opportunities.

The women’s game will tip-off at 3:30 p.m.; the men’s game is 5:30 pm.

Ford played in 32 games for the Bulldogs last season, where he averaged 18.7 minutes and 6.6 points per game. The Fort Worth, Texas, native posted double figures in scoring seven times, including a career-best 20 points, on 6-of-12 shooting, against IU-Indy in the Bulldog Bash.
