American Legion Post 25 in Moulton to host Alabama Veterans Uplift

MOULTON — American Legion Post 25 in Moulton is hosting the inaugural Alabama Veterans Uplift event next month.

This community-focused celebration aims to honor and support Alabama’s veteran community through a day filled with resources, camaraderie and appreciation.

Alabama Veterans Uplift features live entertainment, art and craft vendors, food trucks and patriotic displays and special recognitions. The event is set for June 14 at H.A. Alexander Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Vendors interested in exhibiting should contact Stan Johnson at 256-566-4410 or [email protected].

Several patriotic activities are also planned in the six weeks leading up to the Alabama Veterans Uplift event, as part of Post 25’s “Revive America” initiative. Activities include hanging the city’s veteran banners in early May, planting white memorial crosses on May 17 and a Memorial Day ceremony on May 26.

From May 27 to June 27, Post 25 has partnered with the Lawrence County Archives for an Archives Patriotic Trail, a type of scavenger hunt across Lawrence County. Forms may be picked up at the Lawrence County Archives beginning May 27, or one may be emailed by sending a request to [email protected].

The Revive America Merchants Trail will take place from June 1-27 allowing merchants to show their patriotic spirit. A trail sheet may be picked up at the Lawrence County Archives or one may be requested by sending an email to [email protected].

Each participating location will have a number and a stamp. Once a participant has visited all merchants on the trail, they can turn their completed trail sheet back into the Lawrence County Archives to be entered in a prize drawing.

During the third week in June, Post 25 will conduct a tour of military museums in Huntsville free of charge to veterans. More details will be announced.

Fireworks displays are scheduled for June 27 in Moulton and June 28 in Courtland. Revive America concludes after a celebration on the Fourth of July.
