HUNTSVILLE — Ambassador Andrew Young will be the feature speaker Monday at a virtual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Celebration.

The 38th annual event is hosted by the Delta Theta Lambda Education Foundation of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., and starts at 8 a.m.

It can be viewed on the fraternity’s website, Facebook page and on the YouTube channel. It can also be heard on WJAB 90.9 FM and will be broadcast on WZDX Fox 54.

Young, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, is a civil rights icon and one of the last living leaders of the Civil Rights movement.

Proceeds from the Unity Breakfast are used solely by the foundation to aid students in their pursuit of academic excellence through the awarding of scholarships, mentoring, tutoring and the administration of leadership training.

Alpha Phi Alpha, founded in 1906 at Cornell University, is the first intercollegiate, Greek-letter fraternity founded for African-Americans.
