Artists and crafters from across the Southeast will gather along the shores of Lake Guntersville April 18-19 for the 65th annual Art on the Lake festival.
The longtime spring tradition, held at the Guntersville Recreational Center, features approximately 100 artists and craftsmen showcasing handmade works ranging from paintings and photography to pottery, wood crafts, fiber art and sculpture.
Organizers say the two-day, family-friendly event has drawn exhibitors to North Alabama for more than six decades and remains one of the longest-running arts and crafts shows in the region.
In addition to visual art, festivalgoers can enjoy food vendors, a bake shop and children’s activities including inflatables and carnival-style games.
Members of the Twenty-First Century Club of Guntersville, which sponsors the event, will sell homemade baked goods such as cakes, cookies and pies during the festival.
Art on the Lake will be held at the Guntersville Recreational Center, 1500 Sunset Drive. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3 for ages 13 and older. The event will take place rain or shine. Smoking and animals are not permitted.
Proceeds from the festival benefit the Twenty-First Century Club’s scholarship program for local high school graduates and other youth-focused initiatives.
