Athens State hosts free 2022 Earth Day & Outdoor Expo on campus April 23

Keep Athens Limestone Beautiful has partnered with Athens State University to host the 2022 Earth Day & Outdoor EXPO, a free community-wide event held on the Athens State University campus Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The 2022 Earth Day & Outdoor Expo is free. The university will be offering tree tours of the campus’ historic trees and the Boyd Family Farm is bringing a petting zoo, sponsored by Limestone Pediatric Dental.

There will be vendors offering kids’ activities, earth-friendly products, food trucks, a petting zoo, and more!

The Limestone County Water and Sewer Authority is sponsoring Vicky Beckham Smith “The Bat Lady” and her bats who will perform two educational programs on the importance of bats to the ecosystem.

The Science Guys are on-hand too to perform hands-on science experiments.

There will be plenty of food for purchase including onsite food trucks; AT&T will be collecting old cell phones for recycling at their booth; and the North Alabama Health Education Center is offering free COVID testing.
