Battling for playoff berth, Huntsville City FC hosts ‘Throwback Night’ at The Joe

HUNTSVILLE — With the season winding down, a playoff spot is within reach for Huntsville City FC.
And, the next step is Saturday when first-place New York Red Bulls II visit Wicks Family Field.
After a dramatic 1-0 loss Monday at New England Revolution II, the Boys in Blue (11-7-6, 43 points) enter the weekend sitting fifth in the Eastern Conference standings with just four matches left in the season – three at home.
Red Bulls II come in with a 15-5-4 mark with 51 points. HCFC is just three points behind second-place Chicago Fire II (12-6-6) and Philadelphia Union II (11-5-8), both with 46 points. In fourth place is New England Revolution II at 11-5-7 for 45 points.
Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Huntsville City FC is led by Christian Koffi and Alan Carleton, who are tied for 10th in MLS NEXT Pro goal-scoring with 10 goals each. HCFC and Vancouver are the only teams with two top 10 scorers.
Saturday’s match also marks “Throwback Night” at Wicks Family Field. Fans can enjoy throwback ticket pricing, available with no fees through Friday at 5 p.m.
In-stadium specials include $5 Yellowhammer Gold, $3 hot dogs, and $2 popcorn, plus merchandise discounts throughout the evening.
At halftime, fans will also be treated to special video messages from former Huntsville City FC fan favorites. Tickets can be purchased here.
