Boys in Blue are red hot, riding 4-game win streak

HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville City FC is streaking!

That’s right! The Boys in Blue are on a four-game win streak after this weekend’s 3-2 win at Toronto FC II.

And they were led by a 16-year-old rookie who scored his first pro goal just minutes after making his professional debut.

Tristan Tropeano scored the eventual game-winner at the 82nd minute on a cross by Will Perkins. He subbed on in the 79th minute and with his first touch, scored his first professional goal. Watch Tropeano’s first professional goal here.

For his efforts, MLS NEXT Pro named Tropeano the Rising Star of Matchweek 24. He is the first Huntsville player to win the award for the week’s standout young player.

Huntsville got on the board early after Woobens Pacius intercepted a pass and back-heel passed to Adem Sipić, who directed the ball into the net for his fourth goal of the season.

Toronto then tied the game in the 16th minute through a free kick and took a 2-1 lead in first half stoppage time on a header.

However, the Boys in Blue equalized early in the second half when Dominic Gasso found Pacius, who dribbled the ball up field before firing the ball into the far corner of the net for his fourth goal of the year.

Huntsville City FC will be back in action Sunday in Florida when they visit Orlando City B at 6 p.m. CT at Osceola Heritage Park.

The match can be seen on MLSNEXTPro.com, while fans can view the game at the club’s official watch party at The Casual Pint.
