GUNTERSVILLE — For more than 60 years, artists and crafters from across the Southeast have made their way to this beautiful North Alabama lakeside city to display their works for two days in April.
Held alongside picturesque Lake Guntersville, Art on the Lake is set for April 26-27. Along with arts and crafts, festivalgoers are treated to food vendors, outdoor games and rides and a bake shop.
Now in its 64th year, Art on the Lake is a family friendly festival with a huge offering of artwork, handmade creations and one-of-a-kind items from around 100 artists and craftsmen.
The event features nationally recognized as well as emerging, local artists who will have for sale a wide array of unique creations including wood crafts, fiber art, pottery, sculpture and dimensional forms, paintings and photography.
During the festival, members of the Twenty-First Century Club will have homemade baked goods, such as cakes, cookies and pies, available to purchase. Plenty of entertainment in the form of inflatables and carnival type games will provide hours of enjoyment for the kids.
Art on the Lake is at the Guntersville Recreational Center, 1500 Sunset Drive. The hours are April 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $3 for ages 13 and older. The event is held rain or shine. No animals allowed.
Sponsored by the Twenty-First Century Club of Guntersville, Art on the Lake promotes the arts while benefiting a scholarship program for local high school graduates and other student/youth-oriented endeavors. It is one of the longest running arts and craft shows in the southeast.
