Cats out of the bag! Celebrate Adopt a Shelter Cat Month with Huntsville Animal Services

(City of Huntsville contributed)

HUNTSVILLE – This is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, and Huntsville Animal Services is celebrating in the best way possible — by helping cats and kittens find loving homes.

From March to October, shelters nationwide experience an uptick in kittens and nursing cats. So, now is the perfect time to get involved.

On Saturday, Animal Services staff will be at the 2025 Rocket City Kittypalooza hosted by Cattyshack from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lowe Mill, 2211 Seminole Drive. Stop by to receive spay and neuter vouchers and more information on the services provided by Animal Services.

“We’re thrilled to partner with … Cattyshack for these special events during Adopt a Shelter Cat Month,” said John Fischer, director of Huntsville Animal Services. “Their support helps us shine a spotlight on the incredible cats and kittens in our care who are waiting for loving homes. It truly takes a community effort to make a difference, and we’re grateful to work alongside organizations that share our passion for helping animals thrive.”

Animal Services is open Monday and Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
