Free family fun, fireworks and a salute to Team Redstone are on tap Thursday as Celebrate Madison returns to Toyota Field for its fifth year.

The fifth annual event, hosted by the Madison Chamber of Commerce and presented by Meta, is free and open to the public. Gates open at 6 p.m., with a fireworks finale sponsored by Huntsville Utilities at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s theme, “Madison Celebrates Redstone,” recognizes Team Redstone’s 85 years in the community and its role in the city’s growth and the surrounding region.

“Celebrate Madison brings our community together to recognize the people and organizations that help make Madison a special place to live, work and grow,” said Michelle Epling, president of the Madison Chamber of Commerce. “As Team Redstone marks 85 years in our community, we’re proud to celebrate its lasting contributions and invite everyone to join us for an evening of local pride, performances and family fun.”

Visitors can explore an expanded showcase of local businesses along the Trash Pandas concourse, sample food from participating chamber restaurants and collect candy at vendor booths.

The first 500 guests will also receive a free hot dog and soda while supplies last.

The evening’s entertainment includes performances by the Journey, Liberty and Discovery middle school choirs and The Dance Company, along with a special tribute to Team Redstone.

Madison City Schools will present a video update, followed by a check presentation to the Supporting Our Students Fund. The donation comes from proceeds raised during the chamber’s Back-to-School Breakfast.

The program will also recognize Madison’s Military Family of the Year, honoring a local military family for its service to the nation and contributions to the community.

The honoree was selected from community nominations by a committee representing the Military Child Education Coalition, AUSA Redstone-Huntsville Chapter and Semper Fi Community Task Force.

Last year’s Celebrate Madison drew a record crowd of more than 850 people. Chamber organizers said they hope to surpass that attendance this year.

Celebrate Madison is Thursday, Oct. 29, at Toyota Field. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the free event concludes with fireworks at 7:30 p.m.
