Drive with purpose: Huntsville Transit looking for part-time paratransit bus operators

HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville Transit invites compassionate, dedicated and service-minded individuals to make a difference and serve their community by applying to be part-time paratransit bus operators.

Paratransit bus operators provide safe, reliable transportation to riders on Access, Huntsville Transit’s specialized, door-to-door, demand-response paratransit service.

“We are excited to grow our team with individuals who want to make a real difference in people’s lives,” said Quisha Bryant, director of Parking & Public Transit. “Paratransit operators provide more than just a ride – they help individuals maintain mobility and independence and are friendly faces to those who depend on our service.”

Huntsville Transit is seeking applicants from various backgrounds, such as caregiving professionals, certified nursing assistants (CNAs), home health aides, social workers, case managers, transportation and customer service professionals, veterans and retirees.

In addition to the fulfillment that comes from a meaningful and rewarding career, part-time paratransit bus operators receive sick leave, holiday pay, and retirement benefits.
