Flying Biscuit lands in Huntsville’s Foundry; joins Taziki’s

HUNTSVILLE – A new breakfast and brunch spot will soon butter your biscuits, so to speak.

The Flying Biscuit will bring its Southern-inspired breakfast, brunch and comfort food menu to Huntsville, the Beach Company and Crunkleton Commercial Real Estate announced today.

The location will be in The Foundry, a mixed-use community on Governors Drive in west Huntsville.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring such a wonderful business to share with The Foundry and the people of Huntsville,” said owners Leah and Jeannie. “Choosing the location was an easy endeavor. Upon visiting The Foundry, we knew it had to be the home of the newest Flying Biscuit.”

With 33 locations across the Southeast, The Flying Biscuit Café will open its first Huntsville location and third in the state in The Foundry’s retail space at 3806 Governors Drive. Open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until 10 p.m., The Flying Biscuit Café is also known for its signature biscuits and gravy.

Construction is set to begin next month with an estimated opening in spring 2025.

“The Foundry’s newest addition, The Flying Biscuit, adds an award winning all-day Southern comfort food dining option to The Foundry and The Range’s rapidly growing community,” said Bill Metzger, director of Multifamily Asset Management at The Beach Company. “Coupled with the grand opening of Taziki’s, The Flying Biscuit will serve to enhance this community as a premier destination for the residents who live and work onsite and the greater Huntsville area.”

Taziki’s Mediterranean Café will occupy 3,525 square feet at The Foundry’s southeast corner fronting Governors Drive. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the healthy, fast-casual eatery will offer a Greek Mediterranean menu, including chicken, steak, lamb feasts, gyros, soups and salads.

“The addition of Taziki’s to The Foundry will provide nearby residents and employees with an easily accessible and health-conscious dining option,” said Tyler Presswood, Asset Management Analyst at The Beach Company.

Located at the gateway into West Huntsville, The Foundry is comprised of four residential buildings, offering 342 Class-A multifamily residences with studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans and three townhome buildings encompassing 14 three-bedroom units, and approximately 9,900 square feet of commercial space.

The Foundry sits next to its sister property, The Range, a 49,229-square-foot Class-A commercial office building, and offers convenient access to downtown Huntsville, Campus 805, the medical district, Research Park and Redstone Arsenal, and Stovehouse, Huntsville’s largest carefully curated work, eat, play, drink and event complex.

Additionally, a Food City grocery store is under construction and set to open in March, adding another amenity to the Stovehouse District.

“Introducing a Food City supermarket to Huntsville’s Stovehouse District further solidifies our goal of creating spaces that meet daily needs while enhancing community spirit and convenience for all,” said Stephen Spangler, executive vice president of real estate, store planning and development for Food City. “We are confident that this new store will serve as a central hub for top-quality products and easy access to essentials, addressing a vital need in the Stovehouse District.”

They are all connected with a 10-foot-wide pedestrian sidewalk that was recently completed, enhancing access and walkability for employees, residents and visitors.

“The Stovehouse District represents a revitalized chapter in the ongoing narrative of Huntsville’s economic development and change,” said Jim McGuffey, deputy director of urban and economic development for the City of Huntsville. “This redevelopment not only preserves our rich industrial heritage but also fosters new business growth and innovation.

“By creating a vibrant mixed-use space, we are attracting diverse businesses, creating jobs and enhancing the quality of life for our residents.”
