HUNTSVILLE — To say Huntsville International Airport is reaching new heights in passenger traffic is putting it mildly.

In fact, HSV is seeing the numbers steadily climb over the past three months.

The airport broke all previous monthly passenger traffic records in July marking its busiest month ever with 168,281 passengers last month, surpassing July 2024 by 16.7% (144,250), officials announced today.

This is the third consecutive month that HSV has broken all-time passenger traffic records: June 2025 saw 160,455, and May 2025 recorded 156,967 passengers.

Additionally, passenger traffic for the calendar year-to-date increased 6.5% over the same time period as last year.

HSV set annual passenger records in 2023 (1,473,629) and 2024 (1,635,589).

Airport management attributes the growth to a combination of factors including a greater number of seats available, more flights, the addition of daily nonstop service to Orlando on Breeze Airways and daily nonstop service to New York City on Delta Air Lines, as well as the return of twice weekly nonstop service to Los Angeles on Breeze.

Allegiant Air recently announced three nonstop routes from Huntsville: Fort Lauderdale starting Nov. 19; Sanford/Orlando starting Feb. 12, 2026; and St. Petersburg/Clearwater starting March 5, 2026.
