Grass kicking: Huntsville City FC announces season schedule, theme night

HUNTSVILLE – In less than two months, Huntsville City FC will hit the pitch for their third season.

And, just a couple weeks later, the Boys in Blue will be on the friendly turf of Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium for the home opener.

To say the MLS NEXT Pro club is excited is putting it mildly as they unveil a slate of promotions that should score great experiences for the fans.

“With just 40 days before the start of a new season, we are ready to kick off year three of Huntsville City FC soccer at Wicks Family Field,” said Chad Emerson, managing director of  Business Operations. “Whether it’s for the return of fan favorites Space Night and I Heart Huntsville Day, or celebrating new occasions like Luau Night or Throwback Night, we are excited to make every experience at an HCFC match a memorable one.”

The home opener is March 28 when Philadelphia Union II rolls in for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

HCFC opens the regular season March 9 in the Windy City as the squad takes on Chicago Fire FC II at 3 p.m.

Carolina Core visits The Joe on Decision Day, Oct. 5, at noon for the season finale.

Single-game tickets will go on sale for the general public at 10 a.m. Feb. 5. Season ticket members will have access to an exclusive 24-hour sale window starting 10 a.m. Feb. 4.

In addition to the regular season schedule, Huntsville City FC also announced themes for all 14 home matches at Wicks Family Field, including the return of Space Night (July 25) with including stargazing on the pitch after the match, and Armed Forces Night (June 6) in correlation with Huntsville’s Armed Forces Week.
