Hattie B’s cooking up a hot opening at Huntsville’s Stadium Commons

HUNTSVILLE — It may be cold outside, but there will some heat coming to South Huntsville this week.
And it will be Hattie B’s Hot Chicken bringing the heat.
The Nashville-based fast-casual eatery will open its first Huntsville location Wednesday at Stadium Commons, adjacent to Joe Davis Stadium on South Memorial Parkway.

“We’re incredibly excited to open in Huntsville,” Hattie B’s Hot Chicken Chief Development Officer Dave Oster said in a news release. “We chose this particular spot because of its excellent visibility and accessibility from Memorial Parkway, along with the strong co-tenancy with Stadium Commons.”

The Huntsville location will be Hattie B’s first restaurant to offer a pick-up lane for call-in and online orders.
“This allows us to conveniently serve guests who are on the go, while our dine-in patrons will still have the space to enjoy our Southern hospitality and great food,” Oster said.

The restaurant is in the heart of Stadium Commons in a 4,501-square-foot standalone building, with 68 seats in the 2,832-square-foot dining room and 78 seats on the 1,669-square-foot patio.

The design features a bold red and black-and-white color scheme that lights up with neon signs in the evening. The energetic, modern vibe extends to the covered patio.
“We’re thrilled that Nashville’s popular Hattie B’s Hot Chicken will be the first tenant opening to the public at Stadium Commons,” said Wesley Crunkleton, principal at Crunkleton Commercial Real Estate. “When we started looking to curate the right tenant mix for this development, Hattie B’s was top of the list.”
The menu will feature Hattie B’s favorites, including:
  • Dirty Bird Fries ($9.50) – loaded fries with Hattie B’s signature pimento mac, tender bites and Nashville comeback sauce
  • Classic Chicken Sandwich with one side ($11) – add a slice of melted American cheese to a fried or grilled chicken sandwich
  • Jumbo Tenders Plate ($11.25) – three classic fried or grilled chicken tenders, served with a choice of one side, bread and pickles
  • Southern Salad ($12.50) – a lighter option featuring half-inch-cut chicken tender bites available fried or grilled in any heat level, along with mixed greens, sweet corn and black-eyed pea succotash, cheddar, bacon and cornbread croutons
  • Half Bird Plate ($14.50) – breast, thigh, leg and wing, served with a choice of one side, bread and pickles.
“Folks can expect everything they know and love about Hattie B’s — our delicious fried chicken, hot or not, classic Southern sides, grandma-approved desserts and cold beer,” Hattie B’s Executive Chef Brian Morris said. “Whether you’re ordering a classic chicken sandwich for lunch, refueling midday or kicking off a night with friends and some snacks to share, we’ve got something that hits the spot.
“Let’s go, Huntsville! We can’t wait to welcome y’all.”
The first 100 guests on opening day will receive a specially-designed Hattie B’s Huntsville tote bag, including a branded bandana, neckerchief, patches and a poster.
Operating hours are Sunday – Thursday, 10:45 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
