HUNTSVILLE — The HudsonAlpha Institute of Biotechnology and startup accelerator gener8tor are working together once again to provide support for quickly growing start-ups with large potential.
This time, as part of the HudsonAlpha AgTech Accelerator program, the two entities are teaming up to provide investments of up to $100,000 each to six agricultural technology startups known to be at the forefront of the industry.
“Innovation in the agriculture industry is deeply important to the state of Alabama, our country and the world,” said Alex Cate, director of entrepreneurship programs at HudsonAlpha. “HudsonAlpha is invested in supporting advancements that help feed and fuel Alabamians. From mapping plant genomes, growing an agtech workforce, or empowering startups to move their discoveries to the field, we are excited to continue supporting those on the cutting edge of the agriculture economy.”
Christopher Udall, managing director of the HudsonAlpha AgTech Accelerator, is looking forward to working with the burgeoning startups.
“At gener8tor, our mission is to be the best partner for a community to invest in its best and brightest,” he said. “Our founders are the best and brightest, and I am excited to work with HudsonAlpha and help them accelerate their businesses.”
The selected startups are:
- Druid Ag – AI-enabled camera system that detects changes in plant health
- Extrasense Technologies – protects the food supply by preventing pest-related disruptions
- Karyosoft – enhances research efficiency and accelerates innovations in agrigenomics

The accelerator will end Dec. 12 with a showcase event highlighting each of the six startups.
