A campaign rally for Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall is set to bring several hundred supporters to Marshall County next week as the race for U.S. Senate continues to heat up.
The “Steve Marshall for U.S. Senate Rally” will take place Monday, March 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sand Mountain Amphitheater main building in Albertville. Organizers say they expect a large crowd from across North Alabama and beyond.
“It’s great to be back in Marshall County where I had the honor to serve as District Attorney for 16 years,” Marshall said. “The path to victory runs right through North Alabama. This region will decide the Republican nomination. And we need North Alabama represented in the United States Senate. Which is why I’m excited to hold our first campaign rally right here in North Alabama. We hope to see everyone there!”
Marshall served as District Attorney for Marshall County from 2001 until 2017 before being elected Alabama Attorney General. He was the first Republican to announce his candidacy for the open Senate seat in May. He is seeking to replace U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), who is running for governor.
Since Marshall entered the race, four other Republican candidates have joined the GOP primary field: South Alabama Congressman Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), Navy SEAL Jared Hudson, former Trump and Tuberville staffer Morgan Murphy and Lineville businessman Rodney Walker.
Marshall also received the endorsement of the Alabama Farmers Federation. The organization’s backing is driven by its grassroots membership network spanning all 67 Alabama counties.
The March 9 rally is open to the public, but organizers require attendees to register in advance.
The Republican primary is scheduled for May 19.
