The Huntsville Area Association of REALTORS has selected veteran association executive Tiffany James as its next chief executive officer, placing her at the helm of both HAAR and ValleyMLS as North Alabama continues to experience rapid growth.

James is scheduled to begin her new role at the end of July, succeeding leadership during a period of significant expansion across the Huntsville region driven by growth in defense, aerospace, technology, advanced manufacturing and population gains.

In her new position, James will work with HAAR leadership, ValleyMLS, brokers, REALTORS, subscribers and community partners to strengthen member services, support professionalism within the real estate industry and expand the organization’s regional influence.

“Tiffany brings exactly the kind of forward-thinking, relationship-centered leadership HAAR needs for this next chapter,” said HAAR President Regina Mitchell. “Our region is growing rapidly, our members are navigating a changing real estate environment, and HAAR must continue to elevate its role as a trusted resource, advocate, educator and industry leader.”

James brings more than two decades of experience in REALTOR association leadership, communications, advocacy, governance and member engagement.

Most recently, she served as CEO of the Fort Collins Board of REALTORS in Colorado, where she led strategic initiatives, expanded partnerships, diversified revenue sources and oversaw modernization efforts that included a new website and association management system.

She also previously held senior leadership positions with the Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS, where she launched the organization’s first communications department and helped establish it as a leading source for housing market data and media relations.

The national search was conducted by a committee led by Robert Simons and assisted by WAV Group, a consulting and executive search firm specializing in the real estate industry.

“Our Search Committee was focused on finding a leader who could guide both HAAR and ValleyMLS with vision, discipline and credibility,” Simons said. “Tiffany stood out because she brings both strategic energy and practical execution.”

James said she looks forward to working with real estate professionals and community stakeholders across North Alabama.

“The strength of HAAR and ValleyMLS starts with the people they serve, and I am looking forward to building strong relationships with the brokers, REALTORS, subscribers, staff and community partners who are shaping North Alabama’s future,” James said.

“This is a market with extraordinary momentum and an association with an incredible opportunity to help shape the future of real estate services, professionalism, advocacy and market leadership.”

HAAR serves nearly 5,000 members across North Alabama and provides advocacy, education, professional development and industry resources for real estate professionals. ValleyMLS, a wholly owned subsidiary of HAAR, serves as the region’s multiple listing service, providing property data and technology tools to real estate professionals throughout North Alabama.
