HUNTSVILLE — On Father’s Day weekend next month, Huntsville Parks & Recreation invites families to celebrate the dads and father figures who make a difference every day with a special event in John Hunt Park.

Dads’ Day at the Park will be June 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Loretta P. Spencer Sports Complex.

This free, family friendly event is open to all ages and promises a day filled with fun, laughter and memorable moments. Attendees can enjoy various activities including live music, food trucks, sports-themed games and even a home run derby. Prizes will be awarded to top competitors, making the derby a can’t-miss event for dads who love a little friendly competition.

“We wanted to create a space where families can come together, have fun and celebrate the positive impact of father figures in our community,” said Parks and Recreation Director James Gossett. “Whether it’s a dad, granddad, coach or mentor, this day is all about honoring the people who show up and support.”

Dads’ Day at the Park offers fun for the entire family. Children can participate in crafts and games, and everyone is encouraged to relax and enjoy the music and atmosphere.

No registration is required, and attendance is free. Just come ready for a day of outdoor fun, community connection and celebration.
