Huntsville City Council launches ‘Deck the Districts’ competition

(City of Huntsville)

HUNTSVILLE – If you love to dress up your house and yard for Christmas, the Huntsville City Council invites you to enter the Deck the Districts holiday light competition.

Open to homeowners across all five districts, the contest encourages participants to creatively deck the exterior of their homes with boughs of holly as well as festive lights and decorations.

Participants should complete the online entry form and submit quality photos of their holiday displays. Professional display entries are prohibited.

The deadline to enter is Dec. 12 and winners in the five council districts will be announced at the Dec. 18 City Council meeting. Each district winner will receive a prize, a festive decorative yard sign and bragging rights for the next year.

“Deck the Districts is a new tradition at City Council and we are excited to see it continue this year,” Council President Jennie Robinson said. “The holidays are a special time of year and we look forward to seeing the displays created across Huntsville.”
