HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville City FC is offering a chance to walk in a winter wonderland.
Well, actually, it’s a chance to walk on Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium.
What makes this so special?
The opportunity is during next month’s Holiday 5K & 10 K runs.
The special, untimed 5K walk provides a festive stroll along the same scenic route as runners and finish right on the pitch at Wicks Family Field.
Huntsville City FC and Fleet Feet are offering a special $10 walker ticket (kids 12 and under are free with a parent or guardian) – which includes a retro race scarf, making it a perfect way to soak up the holiday spirit without breaking a sweat.
Along with the 5K and 10K runs on the fastest and flattest course in North Alabama, there will be prizes for the three most festively dressed participants, free hot chocolate for all, free holiday scarves for the runners and great food and beverages.
And the sounds of the season will played over the PA system, adding a holiday atmosphere under the lights at Wicks Family Field.
