Huntsville City FC claims festive win; returns to launch mode

HUNTSVILLE — As the glow of holiday lights and fake snow fade after its 2-1 win last Friday, Huntsville City FC is back on the pitch this week with a salute that is truly out of this world.

Space Night returns to the Rocket City as Huntsville City FC battles sister Space City Orlando City B for galactic bragging rights at 7 p.m. Friday at Wicks Family Field.

“Space Night is our night as a club to celebrate Huntsville and North Alabama’s incredible history and exciting future for all things space-related,” said Chad Emerson, HCFC managing director, business operations. “We’ll host our friends at NASA MSFC and Artemis, along with leading space industry companies, for an evening of interactive exhibits, photo opportunities and space-themed surprises.”

To celebrate and honor Huntsville’s role as America’s original Space and Rocket City, HCFC will debut a third kit inspired by the space shuttle and the NASA astronauts who have worn the iconic orange Advanced Crew Escape Suit.

“We’re thrilled to debut our NASA-inspired orange uniforms for the first time at Space Night,” Emerson said. “We’ve all seen Space Shuttle and other astronauts in their iconic orange spacesuits.

“This is our tribute to their bravery to lead us into the space frontier.”
