Huntsville City FC preseason schedule features four home matches

HUNTSVILLE There may be snow on the ground but that doesn’t mean you can’t start thinking about soccer.

To help warm things up, Huntsville City Football Club announced a six-game preseason schedule, which includes four matches in Huntsville, one in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and one in Austin, Texas.

The team will begin preseason training Tuesday for its third season at the Loretta P. Spencer Sports Complex at John Hunt Park.

The competition kicks off Jan. 25 when the Boys in Blue host nine-time NAIA national champions Lindsey Wilson College at 2 p.m. at the Loretta P. Spencer Sports Complex.

After trips to play MLS NEXT Pro rivals Colorado Rapids 2 (Feb. 8 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Austin FC II (Feb. 15 in Austin, Texas), HCFC hosts two more matches at the Spencer Sports Complex – the University of Alabama in Huntsville, 6 p.m., Feb. 19; and Birmingham Legion of USL Championship, 2 p.m., Feb. 22.

To wrap up the preseason, Huntsville City hosts the Chattanooga Red Wolves of USL League One in an exclusive season-ticket holder only match March 1 at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium.
