HUNTSVILLE — On a night that celebrated running, Huntsville City FC put on an offensive display with a 4-0 win over Inter Miami II at Wicks Family Field.

The club hosted Run Rocket City Night leading up to the match Sunday and the mood carried over as the Boys in Blue unleashed 21 shots, including 12 on goal.

It was also the club’s second straight shutout – a first for HCFC. They have now allowed just five goals in six matches – second-lowest in MLS NEXT Pro.

Also, with Sunday’s four goals, HCFC leads the league in scoring with 16 goals.

Blake Bowen set the tone early with a strong opener at 21 minutes for his first goal of the season. Then, just 8 minutes later, Ethan O’Brien scored his second goal this season for a 2-0 lead.

Just minutes into the second half, Gunnar Studenhofft wasted no time finding the back of the net, energizing the crowd with his third goal of the season. To cap off the night, Jordan Knight delivered the final blow, his first goal of the season, to seal the emphatic win.

Christian Koffi earned Man of the Match honors after a relentless performance in the midfield, leading Huntsville to back-to-back victories.

Goalkeeper Brian Schwake had two saves for the blank sheet in his HCFC debut.

The win lifted the Boys in Blue to third place in the league with a 3-1-2-2 record for 13 points.

HCFC is looking to be strong with the force Saturday when Atlanta United 2 (1-2-4-1, 7 points) visits Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium for “Star Wars Night.”

Fans are encouraged to dress up, meet characters, and enjoy photo ops in a galaxy not so far away.
