HUNTSVILLE — He doesn’t quite come from a galaxy far, far away.

But, according to Huntsville City FC, its new mascot is a star in his own right and, quite literally, the “goat.”

Marshall made his debut Monday at, appropriately enough, the Space Camp Operations Center at the U.S. Space & Center.

“Marshall the Cosmic GOAT is an exciting addition to the Huntsville City FC family,” said Chad Emerson, managing director of business operations. “Donning our new ‘Rocket City Roots Kit,’ our new mascot is set to add a new layer of enthusiasm, intrigue, and entertainment at Wicks Family Field this season and in the years to come.”

Marshall will interacting with the fans at the matches and will “bring a lot of energy” and even some skits, according to his “handler,” Marissa Schermer. “There will definitely be a little swagger.”

Even head Coach Chris O’Neal said he was eager to see what Marshall will be up to during the matches – off the pitch.

“It will be exciting to see Marshall and what he will bring to the fans,” he said. “He’ll bring the energy in the seats … I won’t be watching, though.

“I hope I don’t see him on the field,” O’Neal said with a laugh.

Marshall’s match day debut will be March 28 in Huntsville City’s home opener against Philadelphia Union 2.
