Huntsville Hospital’s new Spine & Neuro Clinic in Madison

Residents of Madison will now have increased access to advanced spinal care with the opening of Huntsville Hospital Spine & Neuro Clinic’s newest location. The facility, situated in Madison, aims to provide personalized treatment options for a range of conditions affecting the brain, spine, and nervous system, bringing expert care closer to home for many North Alabama patients. 

“We are experiencing incredible growth in Madison County, and we’re seeing so many patients who come to our Spine & Neuro practice in Huntsville but live in Madison,” says Josh Hewiett, Senior Vice President of Physician Services at Huntsville Hospital Health System. The timing finally aligned to open a clinic in Madison to serve the booming population. The facility will be located in Madison Medical 1, adjacent to Madison Hospital. 

The clinic will have a robust staff of neurosurgeons, physiatrists (who manage conditions affecting skeletal and nervous systems), physicians assistants, and nurse practitioners. Operating Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the clinic will also offer expedient same-day appointments with a physician assistant for spine care evaluations. “We’re excited that we’re able to meet the needs of Madison’s growth and the needs of our individual patients in the area,” Hewiett says. “Our community is growing, so we’re growing with it. We’re recruiting physicians and team members so we can serve more patients in a more timely manner and give them more convenient access to care.” 

Prioritizing patient convenience and accessibility, the new Huntsville Hospital Spine & Neuro Clinic in Madison will allow patients to self-refer for care, eliminating the need for a primary care physician referral. In addition to this streamlined access, the clinic will offer same-day appointments, ensuring timely evaluations for neurosurgical and spinal concerns. Initial consultations, evaluations and select procedures will take place in the Madison facility and Hospital, most surgeries will be performed at the main Huntsville Hospital campus. 

The Huntsville Hospital Spine & Neuro Clinic in Madison will offer diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of conditions affecting the spine and nervous system. Among the issues to be addressed at the new facility are common ailments such as back and neck pain, radiating arm or leg pain, and pinched nerves. Patients experiencing hand numbness or weakness, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, herniated discs, bone spurs, and degenerative disc disease can also seek care here. Additionally, the clinic will provide services for more complex conditions including spinal fractures and stenosis, as well as traumatic brain injuries.
