The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber has opened nominations for its 2026 Small Business Awards, recognizing businesses and individuals making an impact across the Huntsville and Madison County community.
Nominations are open through 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, with winners to be honored during the Chamber’s annual Small Business Awards ceremony on Nov. 19.
The awards recognize businesses across a variety of industries, including arts and recreation, construction, hospitality, retail, health care, professional services, defense, nonprofit organizations, and minority-, veteran- and woman-owned businesses.
Individual honors include the Russell G. Brown Executive Leadership Award, Small Business Champion of the Year and Young Professional of the Year.
The Chamber said the awards celebrate the resilience, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of small businesses that contribute to the region’s economy and quality of life.
To be eligible, nominees must be current Chamber members in good standing, hold a valid business license or nonprofit tax exemption, and meet category-specific requirements. Most business categories are limited to companies with fewer than 250 employees, though the defense professional and technical services category includes separate awards for small, medium and large businesses.
Most nominees also must have been in business for at least three years, while companies competing in the Emerging Business of the Year category must be less than three years old.
Businesses that have received a Chamber Small Business Award within the past three years are generally ineligible to win again in the same period, with exceptions for several individual awards.
The Chamber noted that the number of nominations a business or individual receives will not influence the selection process.
