Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau goes mobile and launches redesigned website

HUNTSVILLE — The Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau today unveiled two major promotional assets that will enhance the way the Rocket City connects with travelers: A mobile Visitor Center and a redesigned Huntsville.org website.

The new initiatives were announced during a press event at the downtown Visitor Center, where Jennifer Moore, president and CEO of the CVB, described the launch as a major step forward in the organization’s mission to showcase the area’s innovation, hospitality, and creativity.

“Our aim was to design a vehicle that delivers information directly to visitors in a striking and memorable way, ensuring it gets noticed wherever it goes,” Moore said.

The Mobile Visitor Center, a fully branded cargo van, was designed and built through collaborations with local businesses. The base vehicle was purchased from Landers-McLarty Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, customized by Bankston Motor Homes, and wrapped by Metro Signs, Wraps & Tint. The wrap design, created by local graphic designer Taylor Burton, incorporates the CVB’s new brand colors, graphical elements, and logo.

The van will appear at local events such as festivals, concerts, and sports events — as well as travel across North Alabama to promote Huntsville’s hospitality industry and thank the organizations that bring conferences, trade shows, and visitors to the area.

Alongside the new van, the CVB also introduced the reimagined Huntsville.org, rebuilt in partnership with Granicus/Simpleview and user enhancements provided by ITI Digital.

The new website features improved navigation, modern design, and upgraded functionality that make it easier for users to discover upcoming events, plan itineraries, and explore the community.

Updated imagery and fonts reflect Huntsville’s creative energy, diversity, and forward-thinking spirit.

“This is also a major upgrade to the marketing and promotional capabilities of the Convention and Visitors Bureau,” Moore said. “The new site does a better job of reflecting the offerings of our community and conveying the quality of life that we all enjoy.”

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle said the van and website provide “new tools” to the marketing “tool chest.”

“When we talk about marketing Huntsville, Madison, Madison County, and the whole North Alabama area, this [mobile visitor and new website] gives us some new tools in the tool chest,” he said. “A mobile visitor center means we can take that message out to the public and out to North Alabama. It’s one of the great things that we get to do as government is sell our community.”

The Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau is the official destination marketing organization for Huntsville, Madison, and Madison County. The CVB works to attract visitors, meetings, conferences, and events to the area while promoting the unique experiences, attractions, and innovations that define the “Rocket City.”
