Huntsville Police, Parks & Recreation to host fourth annual Halloween Party and Haunted House

HUNTSVILLE — A popular fall tradition is returning to Huntsville this October.

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) and Huntsville Parks and Recreation invite the community to the fourth annual Halloween Party and Haunted House.

Scheduled for Oct. 18 from 3-8 p.m. at the Jaycee Building in John Hunt Park, admission is free and open to all ages.

“We love hosting events that bring our community together, and this one has quickly become a favorite,” HPD Chief Kirk Giles said. “Our officers look forward to greeting kids, handing out candy and building connections with the community in a safe and fun environment.”

Attendees can enjoy an evening of family-friendly fun, featuring:

  • Trick or treat
  • Bounce houses
  • Family-friendly entertainment and carnival games
  • Food trucks
  • Haunted House (opens at 5 p.m.)

Parks and Recreation Director James Gossett said the Halloween Party has grown into one of the city’s most anticipated events.

“Each year, more families turn out to enjoy the activities, and the energy just keeps building,” Gossett said. “Together with Huntsville Police, we’re able to give people a positive Halloween experience they can count on year after year.”

Costumes are encouraged but not required.

Local vendors and nonprofit organizations will also be on site with candy booths, adding to the festive atmosphere.
