Huntsville Realtors group announces endorsements for Aug. 23 municipal elections

HUNTSVILLE – The Huntsville Area Association of Realtors announced its endorsements for the Aug. 23 municipal elections.

“We’re not the red or blue party, we’re the Realtor party,” said HAAR President Isaac Winkles. “Our group of diverse and experienced volunteer members have carefully
vetted each candidate for upcoming Huntsville elections and the association is proud to
support Realtor champions who will stand for the American dream of owning a home and private property rights.”

In the City Council District 4 race, the group endorses challenger Mark Clouser over incumbent Councilman Bill Kling.

The HAAR board did not make an endorsement in the District 2 five-person race of Drake Daggett, Brian Foy, David Little, Danny Peters, and Bill Yell.

District 4 Councilwoman Jennie Robinson is unopposed.

For the Huntsville City Schools District 2 post, HAAR’s board of directors endorses Holly McCarty.

In District 3, the association has endorsed incumbent Elisa Farrell.

In District 4, incumbent Ryan Renaud received the endorsement.

In the selection process, candidates are provided with a questionnaire. Those who return a completed questionnaire are then invited to interview with the association’s work group. After the interviews, workgroup provides endorsement recommendations to HAAR’s leadership team. Then, the candidate names are sent to the HAAR Board of Directors for an up-or-down vote.
