As the school year winds down and summer plans begin to take shape, the Huntsville Parks & Recreation is preparing to welcome kids back for another season of camps filled with games, learning and outdoor fun.
Registration for the city’s summer camp programs opens at 8 a.m. Monday, April 13, at the Parks & Recreation’s online registration platform. Officials say families are encouraged to sign up early, as spots are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The department will again offer a mix of full-day and specialty half-day camps designed to keep children active and engaged throughout the summer break.
Full-day camps are open to Huntsville residents and Huntsville City Schools students entering grades 1 through 6. The camps will run from June 1 through July 24, operating Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Specialty half-day camps will also be available, featuring themed programming with varying schedules and times.
To streamline the process, parents and guardians are encouraged to create an account on the department’s online registration platform ahead of the April 13 opening. A $20 registration fee is required for all full-day camps.
“Summer camp provides families with a safe, reliable place for their kids while school is out,” Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett said. “We’re proud to offer affordable programs that keep kids active, engaged and supported all summer long.”
Additional details, including a full list of 2026 summer camp offerings, are available online at Huntsville Parks & Recreation.
