Huntsvillian Michelle Levin elected Fellow to American College of Tax Counsel

HUNTSVILLE – Attorney Michelle Abroms Levin has been elected a Fellow to the American College of Tax Counsel. Levin is a shareholder in Dentons Sirote’s Huntsville office, where she is a member of the tax practice group.

The American College of Tax Counsel is a professional association of tax lawyers recognized for their accomplishments, professional achievements and dedication to improving the practice of tax law.

Levin represents clients in federal income tax cases, including IRS audit, administrative appeals, and court proceedings in the US Tax Court, US Court of Federal Claims, and federal district court. She also counsels clients in tax and business planning.

Prior to joining Dentons Sirote, Levin worked as a trial lawyer at the Tax Division of the Department of Justice, where she represented the United States in federal district court.

To become a Fellow of the College, individuals must be nominated by a current Fellow and then evaluated by a committee of the College’s Board of Regents. Also, the attorney must be licensed as a lawyer in the United States for at least 15 years, with a career that is principally devoted to tax law and tax-related matters.

Other requirements include involvement in the taxation committees or sections of national, regional, state or local bar associations, as well as through significant legal writing, teaching in the field, and holding responsible national or regional office involving tax administration.
