Traveling the world won’t require a passport this fall—just a trip to The Orion Amphitheater.
The International Festival of North Alabama is making its debut at Huntsville’s premier outdoor entertainment venue this year, bringing together cultures from around the world for a free community celebration. The free, family-friendly event will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, from noon to 5 p.m., featuring international food, live performances, cultural displays and vendors that give visitors a chance to experience the world without leaving Huntsville.
Presented by the International Society of Huntsville, iFEST showcases cultures represented across North Alabama through music, dance, food and traditions from around the globe. Organizers say the festival celebrates the cultural heritage, traditions and stories that have helped shape the character and diversity of North Alabama and the nation.
“iFEST gives people an opportunity to experience the world through the cultures represented right here in North Alabama. It is a celebration of heritage, creativity, and community connection, and we are excited to welcome the public to our new location at The Orion Amphitheater,” Giorgio Caioli, president of the International Society of Huntsville, said.
Festival activities begin at noon, with live stage performances expected to start between 1 and 1:30 p.m. Visitors can explore international cultural displays, sample foods from around the world, browse local and cultural vendors and artisans, and enjoy activities for all ages. The event will also feature a Parade of Nations.
Admission is free, and no tickets are required. The festival is scheduled to take place rain or shine unless organizers announce otherwise.
Organizers are also inviting cultural organizations, performers, vendors and volunteers to participate in this year’s festival. Additional program details will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
