It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas … in Lawrence County

MOULTON – The halls are decked and the trees are trimmed in Lawrence County.

And that means it’s time for the annual Christmas on the Square.

From Dec. 7-31, visitors can enjoy the spirit of the holiday season with a magical stroll among a beautiful display of live Christmas trees trimmed in festive decorations. The month-long event will be at the Lions Club, 455 School Street. And there is no charge for admission.

The Christmas trees are sponsored and decorated by individuals, groups and businesses from Lawrence County and the surrounding area. The trail also features photo backdrops and selfie stations to document the magical Christmas experience.

There is more than the stroll to fulfill the holiday spirit.

Carriage rides, a petting zoo, sipping on hot chocolate, Santa Claus, train rides, snacking on popcorn and cotton candy, and face painting add to the festive fun Dec. 8 and Dec. 15 at 6 p.m.

Food trucks will be on hand for anyone arriving hungry and for a nominal fee, festival goers can participate in bingo.

For more information, visit Lawrence County Christmas on the Square on Facebook or contact the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce at 256-974-1658 or the Lawrence County Commission at 256-974-0663.
