Jax State, Alabama A&M facing off March 18 at Toyota Field

(Jacksonville State, Alabama A&M, 256 Today)

Jacksonville State and Alabama A&M will face off in a non-conference baseball matchup at Toyota Field on Wednesday, March 18, at 6:05 p.m., the Rocket City Trash Pandas announced Tuesday.

Tickets for the in-state contest are on sale to the general public and can be purchased online, at the Wicks Family Foundation Box Office at Toyota Field or by phone.

The game marks the first meeting between the two programs in 11 years. Jacksonville State, a member of Conference USA, leads the all-time series over Alabama A&M of the Southwestern Athletic Conference, 11-2.

The March 18 matchup will be the Gamecocks’ first baseball appearance at Toyota Field. Jacksonville State previously played at the Madison venue in football in October 2022, when more than 10,000 fans attended a game against North Alabama. The Gamecocks won that contest 47-31.

Jacksonville State enters the season following a major turnaround in 2025, improving its win total by nearly 20 games. The Gamecocks advanced to the Conference USA Championship Game for the first time since 2019, winning four games in four days as the No. 4 seed, including a tournament sweep of top-seeded Dallas Baptist.

Alabama A&M has played at Toyota Field before, splitting two games against Alabama State at the ballpark in 2021. The Bulldogs are also scheduled to participate in the 2026 Global Baseball Series at Toyota Field, opening that event March 30 with an exhibition game against the Toyota Red Cruisers. The three-day showcase will also include the Trash Pandas and the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Toyota Field will also host Alabama on March 24 at 6 p.m. when the Crimson Tide faces Austin Peay.

The Trash Pandas, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, will open their sixth season at Toyota Field on April 3 against the Biloxi Shuckers.
