Last year during the inaugural Picklefest tournament, AAPA had 224 players from seven states visit Athens for the weekend. This tournament was one of the largest tournaments throughout North Alabama. AAPA is looking to build on the success of this year’s tournament Sept. 22-24.
In addition to the tournament, there is also a free social Sept. 23, at Athens Alehouse & Cellar located in historic downtown Athens beginning at 2 p.m. This event is open to the community. Come on out and see a demo of pickleball in the street. There will be a DJ and food truck for patrons to enjoy and partake in.
