Kömmerling USA announces $12.6M Huntsville expansion

HUNTSVILLE — Kömmerling USA is adding two more production lines for its door and window systems at its Huntsville facility, the company said Monday.

The increase will bring about 30  jobs to the Chase Industrial Park location.

This expansion represents a $12.6 million capital investment, including $4.5 million to purchase equipment, $7.5 million to upgrade the facility, and $600,000 to purchase  land next to the plant.

The company makes the door and window systems elsewhere, including Germany. The expansion will allow them to be made in Huntsville, reducing the need for customers to import them.

Huntsville is the first of Kömmerling’s expansions in the United States.

“By expanding our capacities in Huntsville, we are continuing our international growth strategy and sending a clear signal to our partners and for mutual success,” said Dr. Peter Mrosik, owner and CEO of profine Group. “The site’s upgrade and the additional property are a trend-setting step for profine Group and for its sustainable positive development.”

Kömmerling employs 125 people in Huntsville who produce plastic products for the graphics and homebuilding industries. With the expansion, 30 positions will be added over the next two to three years, the company said.

“On behalf of the local Kömmerling team we appreciate profine Group’s investment in Huntsville,” said Brandon Moore, CEO/president of Kömmerling USA. “We look forward to growing as a company and within the community.”
