A new Madison County lawsuit makes jaw-dropping allegations against a Huntsville physician and two healthcare businesses, including claims that two female employees were repeatedly required to shave the doctor’s thighs and calves, and that they were later fired by text after trying to stop being alone with him at the office.
The complaint, filed by plaintiffs identified as Jane Doe and Mary May, names Edward Witt, D.O., ARC Healthcare LLC and QC Kinetix LLC as defendants. The lawsuit describes claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and states the plaintiffs have filed EEOC charges and intend to amend the complaint once right-to-sue letters are issued, along with multiple Alabama common law claims, including invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and wantonness. The plaintiffs are represented by the Huntsville-based law firm, Mastando & Artrip, LLC.
According to the complaint, Doe was jointly employed by QC Kinetix and ARC Healthcare and later worked exclusively for ARC Healthcare, while May worked for ARC Healthcare, and both women worked under the supervision of Witt, who is described as the owner and managing physician of ARC Healthcare and a supervising physician associated with QC Kinetix clinics in the Huntsville area.
The lawsuit alleges Witt engaged in a pattern of unwelcome and sexualized conduct in the workplace, including inappropriate physical touching, sexually explicit conversations and repeated demands that employees shave his thighs and calves.
The plaintiffs claim the leg-shaving incidents occurred regularly over several months and served no legitimate medical or business purpose.
According to the filing, tensions escalated in June 2025 following a workplace interaction involving Witt’s wife.
The complaint states that on or about July 9, 2025, both plaintiffs refused to be alone with Witt at the office. The lawsuit states that on July 10, 2025, both women were terminated via text message. According to the complaint, no reason for the terminations was provided.
The lawsuit also claims ARC Healthcare and QC Kinetix failed to take appropriate action to prevent or address the alleged misconduct, despite knowing or having reason to know about it.
The allegations contained in the complaint have not been adjudicated in court. No responses from the defendants were included in the filing at the time of publication.
