ATHENS — The Limestone County Bar Association has donated $20,000 to Community Table (formerly Limestone County Churches Involved, or L.C.C.I.) to help provide food and resources to individuals and families in need.

Community Table has long been a cornerstone of support for local residents facing hardship, providing groceries, personal care items, and emergency assistance.
With the upcoming holiday season, the recent government shutdown, and the potential suspension of SNAP benefits, the need for community support is greater than ever, the organization said in a news release.
“The Limestone County Bar Association is deeply rooted in this community,” said bar association President Laura Kirby. “As attorneys, we see firsthand the challenges many families face. We’re honored to partner with Community Table in meeting those needs and hope others in the community will join us in supporting this vital organization.”
Community Table operates through volunteers and donations from individuals, churches, and businesses. Every dollar given helps provide direct assistance to neighbors in need within Limestone County.
“Now is the time for all of us to come together,” Kirby said. “Even a small gift can make a big difference in the life of a family this season.”
