ATHENS – The Limestone County Economic Development Association, in partnership with Alabama Industrial Development Training, Career Connect, and the Athens-Limestone Chamber of Commerce, are hosting a free hiring event this week.
“One of our top priorities is strengthening the local workforce by helping more people enter or re-enter the labor market,” said Limestone County Economic Development Association President and CEO Bethany Shockney. “This hiring event gives us a real opportunity to increase labor force participation and match job seekers with employers who are ready to hire.”
The event is Thursday from 2-5 p.m. at the Alabama Veterans Museum, 114 Pryor Street W in Athens.
It is designed to bring together job seekers and employers from across Limestone County, providing opportunities for on-site interviews and direct engagement with hiring managers from various industries.
A highlight of this event is the hiring platform, Career Connect, which has partnered with the Limestone County Economic Development Association in two other events this year. The first event attracted 162 people and the second event drew 195 people to Limestone County.
Those planning to attend can pre-register on the Career Connect platform at www.northalabamajobs.com/ATHENS or register on site.
