GUNTERSVILLE — Two Horton residents are facing child pornography charges after an investigation and arrests by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release.
The sheriff’s office said William Cory Baldwin and Cassie Matia Bobo are each charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography and are in the Marshall County jail on $250,000 bond each.
Bobo, 40, of Horton was taken into custody at a Thacker Road residence after investigators, on a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children, conducted a search of the property and seized electronic devices from the residence, the release said.
After an initial review of the devices, several images containing child pornography were located and arrest warrants were obtained for Baldwin and Bobo.
While attempting to serve one of the arrest warrants, investigators learned Baldwin, had fled the residence. But, after a couple days of searching the area, the sheriff’s office said Baldwin was found in a wooded area in the Horton community and taken into custody.
“Our investigators and deputies did an outstanding job working on this case,” said Sheriff Phil Sims. “You can run but you can’t hide. Deputies were able to find Baldwin hiding in the woods not far from his residence.
“We are committed to finding and tracking down those who would violate the innocence of children.”
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office thanks the following agencies for their assistance in this case and with the capture of Baldwin: Marshall County District Attorney’s Office, United States Marshals Service, Marshall County Drug Task Force, Albertville Police Department and Guntersville Police Department.
