HUNTSVILLE — Mazda Toyota Manufacturing has awarded $150,000 from its MTM Grant Fund to 12 Madison County nonprofit organizations.
In a ceremony Tuesday that included a tour of the plant, the occasion also marked the company’s second milestone in a grant program that kicked off last summer.
The 2023 MTM Grant Fund received more than 80 applications when it opened in February, and more than $2.2 million in requests.
“MTM is grateful to the organizations that support our community, and our MTM Grant Fund is one way that we can show that commitment to North Alabama,” said Mark Brazeal, vice president of administration at MTM.
The company’s Grant Committee narrowed it down to 12 organizations – Huntsville Hospital Foundation, Family Services Center, NCAC, Heals, KTECH/Kids to Love, ELM Foundation, Girls Inc., Kid ONE Transport, The Care Center, Huntsville Botanical Gardens, Still Serving Veterans, and Cap & Gown Project.
Representatives of the organizations were present for a check presentation ceremony with the MTM Team and MTM’s fund partner, the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville.
The Community Foundation hosts MTM’s fund on its platform and is integral to facilitating MTM’s corporate grantmaking.
MTM Senior Vice President Janette Hostettler said she hopes Toyota team members are proud of the impact MTM has in the community.
“It’s all in the hopes we can make Huntsville and the surrounding areas the best place for our team to live, to work, and to build their future,” she said.
MTM will launch a third round of funding this year.
