McCamy returns as Scottsboro mayor; Dawe reelected; Dicus wins school board post

SCOTTSBORO — Holding off a challenge from John Moses, Scottsboro Mayor Jim McCamy was reelected in Tuesday’s municipal elections.

In unofficial results, McCamy received 54% of the vote (1,450 votes) to 46% for Moses (1,228 votes).

Also in Scottsboro, Place 1 City Councilman Ralph Dawe was reelected, picking up 52.56% of the vote (1,384 votes). He defeated Paul White (37.79%, 995 votes) and Terry Thomas (9.65%, 254 votes).

In the city’s Board of Education Place 1, Patrick Dicus handily won a four-person race, unseating incumbent Lee Benson by a more-than 30% margin in unofficials returns. Dicus received 54.8% of the vote (1,422 votes) over Benson (24.4%, 632 votes), Kristie Pedigo Shankles (17.8%, 461 votes) and Lauren Parker (3.1%, 80 votes).
