HUNTSVILLE — A portion of Huntsville’s MidCity District is set to undergo major streetscape enhancements between Stax and Sanderson streets.

The City awarded the construction contract to the lowest bidder, Bulls Construction Group. The project will feature new roadway pavers, on-street parking, decorative street lighting, concrete sidewalks, landscaping, hardscaping and a quarter-acre park at The Point. The park will be equipped with a small pavilion, seating areas, landscaping, irrigation and utilities.

It’s one of the last remaining public improvements for MidCity related to the full redevelopment of the former 110-acre Madison Square Mall site.

Construction is expected to start within the next two weeks.
