Mooresville area development to build on the past for the future

MOORESVILLE – A “new era of growth and opportunity” is in the forecast for Limestone County.

That growth and opportunity can come with a multibillion-dollar value, also.

Bethany Shockney, president and CEO of the Limestone County Economic Development Association, provided the outlook after two Nashville development companies purchased some 411 acres of property at the crossroads of Interstates 65 and 565.

The land was owned by Lawrence McCrary and his sister Margaret Anne Crumlish of 1818 Farms in Mooresville.

“For me and my sister, Margaret Anne Crumlish, being a fifth generation Mooresville family means that this area is not only where we live, it means we have a responsibility to maintain what makes it special,” said Lawrence McCrary, a co-owner with his sister of 1818 Farms in Mooresville. “Finding likeminded developer partners who bring an expertise in land planning, placemaking, architectural design, and incorporating surrounding nature has enabled us an opportunity to grow the surrounding area the right way: honoring the craftsmanship that came before us while building for future generations to come.”

Rochford Realty & Construction Co. and Land Innovations signed a contract for the property with plans for a development of more than 3,500 residential units and 200,000 square feet of commercial space with a possible value of $2.2 billion.

“This partnership between Rochford Realty & Construction Co., Inc. and Land Innovations, LLC brings a new era of growth and opportunity, promising to create jobs, attract investment, and enhance the quality of life for residents and tourists,” Shockney said.

According to a news release, the development will feature “New Urbanist designs, placing emphasis on the human element.”

“We are thrilled to announce the signing of a contract for this landmark property, solidifying our commitment to shaping the future of northern Alabama,” said Trey Rochford, vice president of Administration at Rochford.

Land Innovations President David Horwath touted the development creating a legacy while reflecting on the area’s history.

“Together with Rochford Realty & Construction Co., Inc., we are charting a new course for sustainable development that honors the past while embracing the future,” he said. “This project represents a unique opportunity to establish a lasting legacy that resonates far beyond its physical footprint.

“We are committed to creating communities that not only thrive economically but also enrich the lives of their residents.”
