REDSTONE ARSENAL – “Auf geht’s zur Wiesn!”

That’s right! If it’s September, then that means it’s about time to go to Oktoberfest on Redstone Arsenal.

The annual celebration, hosted by Redstone Arsenal Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, is set for this weekend at the Community Activity Field on post. The event’s hours are 5-11 p.m. Friday; noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

“Oktoberfest at Redstone Arsenal is the perfect opportunity to indulge in German culture without leaving Alabama,” said Stephanie Stone, MWR marketing and special events manager. “We are excited to offer this amazing experience for the local community, military families, and tourists alike. Our relationship with the community makes this weekend of food, fun and entertainment possible.”

General admission is $15 and admission with unlimited rides is $25. Parking is free.

The family-friendly atmosphere includes carnival rides, games, and fun for all ages.

For a taste of Germany, visit the Festhalle Tent to enjoy traditional Oktoberfest foods and beverages, complete with classic steins and all accompanied by live music.
